I'm BJ, a professional entertainer, author, and speaker based in Colon, Michigan: The Magic Capital of the World.

Growing up here wasn't exactly normal. Four days a year, our little town filled with world-class magicians. The rest of the time, a handful stuck around. I was that weird kid who couldn't get enough of it. I learned from anyone who'd teach me, and by my teens, I was performing professionally.

That was over thirty years ago. These days, I've got six kids, a head full of rhymes, including two children's poetry books that hit #1 on Amazon, and I'm still doing what I love. But my journey on and off the stage hasn't just been about card tricks and comedy.

From Darkness to Light

While I spent decades mastering the art of reading a room and making people laugh, I was privately fighting a much darker war. For years, I battled severe depression, trauma, binge drinking, and a heavy addiction to opioids.

Today, I am incredibly proud to say I am 14 years clean.

Going through that fire fundamentally changed how I view my purpose. I realized that life itself is a fragile, beautiful thing, and I chose to devote the rest of my time on this planet to easing suffering, shattering the stigma of mental health, and injecting as much laughter and joy into the world as humanly possible.

1. Professional Entertainment & Emceeing

I perform for corporate events, conferences, school assemblies, libraries, and fundraisers. My style blends sleight of hand, clean comedy, and an intense presence. I don't do filler, I don't do fluff, and I meet audiences exactly where they are. Whether I'm emceeing an international magic convention or performing for a gymnasium full of third-graders, event organizers get someone who shows up prepared, professional, and entirely committed to making them look good.

2. Life's MAGIC (Keynotes & Speaking)

Drawing directly from my battle with addiction and trauma, I developed Life's MAGIC, a system of principles designed to help people find hope in their darkest moments and build a life worth showing up for.

Each letter stands for something I learned in my recovery, and something I discovered was already hiding in plain sight on the stage:
